New top: Burdastyle 108-7/2012

I really like this top.  It's cool and comfortable.
108-7/108

I think the colour would look lovely contrasting with dark blue jeans.

Did I mention it was a doddle to sew?
The other side

Quick too, no hems!  I went ahead and finished it with French seams, and the whole project from tracing to wearing took a morning.
On me, in the dark hallway.

Side view on me.
And all this from a piece of raw silk fabric that I bought cheaply on line and then decided I didn't like! I love this top.  It reminds me of Toast.  And I got mine for a fiver (£5) and a morning's free time.  Woohoo!

Here is the Burda line drawing:

Still busy sewing- cheers!

  3. I love that color. Not orange, not peach, not rust....but sort of all 3. It's one of my fave colors, and I agree, it looks great with blue denim :) Very cute on you!

  5. Lovely. I am putting this one on my summer list, but may have just a tiny bit of trouble finding raw silk in this perfect colour ;) it looks rather luxurious.

  10. Isn`t it wonderful that you took a fabric you didnt like and turned it into such a winner. I think the colour is lovely - a browny apricot, and the little bow makes the top adorable. Hopefully this is a sign that burda is improving ?

  19. You've sold me on this pattern. I saw a great version on the Russian site just now, but yours is even better. Lovely color, great matching with the cropped pants, and so much your vivacious fresh style!

  20. Oh my, the color of that top is absolutely gorgeous! It's such a soft and pretty orange. And I bet it feels fabulous on, being silk and all.

  21. It's times like these when you know all that effort you've put into learning how to sew well pay off (i.e. you can make it instead of buy it). It's a lovely top and the color is very...sophisticated.
